Brisbane – QLD
In the 2018/2019 Financial year, 13,398 vehicles were stolen in Queensland. The number of vehicles stolen in Queensland has increased annually, almost doubling since the 2014/2015.

Sydney – NSW
In New South Wales 12,325 vehicles were stolen in the 2018/2019 financial year, with Blacktown being one the worst areas for vehicle theft with 510 (4.1%) stolen in the same financial year.

Melbourne – VIC
Victoria currently holds the title of the state in which most vehicles are stolen, with 15,490 vehicle thefts occurring in the last financial year (2018/2019). Most vehicles being stolen from the Hume area which encompasses Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Gladstone Park and Meadow Heights.

Perth – WA
7,601 Vehicles thefts occurred in Western Australia in the last financial year (2018/2019) with most commonly stolen model of vehicles stolen were Holden Commodores and Toyota Hilux’s.

Darwin – NT
Most vehicle thefts in the Northern Territory occur within the Darwin City Area. This area accounts for almost 30% of the 856 vehicles stolen in the territory in the 2018/2019 financial year.

Canberra – ACT
Although the Australian Capital Territory was one of the only jurisdictions that saw a reduction in overall vehicle thefts in 2018/2019 on previous years, 1030 vehicles were stolen.
